Postpartum bathroom supplies
ok so it's third trimester and you're nesting like crazy…how about working on some postpartum prep in between scrubbing the base boards and vacuuming behind the stove?!
you're going to want to set up a little bathroom caddy for yourself-maybe one in the bathroom closest to where you plan to hang out, maybe one in each. whatever works for you!
here's what we suggest you have handy and some of the brands we like the most:
peri bottle: the hospital issued one works just fine, but Lansinoh USA and Frida Mom have some nice options as well
maxi pads/depends: nothing fancy here. buy what you like
tucks pads: again the hospital issues witch hazel pads are great, find Tucks at the drug store, or make your own with cotton rounds!
Ice packs/padsicles: we loveeee making our own. check out our reel for instructions!
sitz bath: you can take one home from the hospital as usual, the collapsible one on amazon for easy clean up is great, or check out the sitz bath spray from MotherLove for a similar effect with less effort
flushable wipes: meg the hemorrhoid expert says the Kirkland Costco flushable wipes are superior
mesh underwear: hospital issued all day
comfort measures of choice: anything goes here depending on your budget and personal needs, but some of our favorites are Dermoplast, Young Living claraderm spray, or MotherLove rhoid balm are some favorites!
** honorable mention goes to Squatty Potty
an important reminder is to make sure the contents of this basket is only supplies for the waist down. medications and breast care items should not be stored here to make sure everything stays hygienic!
what else do you have in your basket? got a favorite product? tell us!
