8 questions to ask at your postpartum check-up appointment
Postpartum medical care is often inadequate. But we'll help you make the best of it. Because it really is that important.
First off, make that 6 week postpartum in-person appointment and GO. You can totally BYOB(aby), yoga pants and spit-up stained shirts welcomed. Your provider and nurses just want you there.
Your visit will include: a postpartum depression screening, vital signs, physical exam, a chat with your provider, discussing contraceptive options and plan for follow-up care.
But you will blink, and that postpartum visit will be over and you may be left with more questions than answers.
Our solution: make a note on your phone of topics and questions you don't want to forget to discuss and read off the list at the office.

❓any special considerations for returning to exercise/intercourse when I am ready?
❓what are symptoms moving forward I should report to you?
❗️bring up your bleeding and any trends

You had 16 visits in pregnancy, and just ONE routine postpartum visit. But that just means this visit is 16x more important, so do not feel rushed and do not stay silent if your mom intuition is telling you something. You matter, mama
